A Chapter of Sauber and Swiss Motorsport

Updated: Dec 12, 2025
With the final race under the Sauber name, not only does a chapter of motorsport history come to an end – it also closes a chapter of my own. It brings back many memories of the years with Peter and his team:
From my early days in motorsport, driving the SAUBER C5, C7 and C8 cars on national and international circuits, to the unforgettable Le Mans years with Mercedes – with our legendary 1-2 victory as the highlight – and on to our time together in Formula 1 as Red Bull Sauber Ford/Petronas/Ferrari: we went through sooo much side by side.
We didn’t always share the same opinion. But that doesn’t change what we achieved together – nor the significance we had in shaping each other’s paths. With a bit of distance, you realise just how defining those moments truly were.
What remains is a chapter filled with passion, determination and achievements that still resonate today - and, a significant contribution to Swiss Motorsport.
Peter, I wish you well for whatever comes next - with sincere respect for what you achieved!
