A tribute to Jo Siffert

50th anniversary of his tragic accident.

Jo Siffert - A global superstar. He was my big idol and definetely one of the strongest reasons why I am in Motorsport business today. 'Seppi' fascinated and influenced Switzerland 'Roger-Federer-like' for more than a decade at that time. I am thankful having met him several times personally and having such a long standing friendship with his son Philippe.

In a temporary special exhibition (March - December 2021) in Givisiez, just outside Fribourg, some of his racing cars, helmets and suits as well as trophies from his active time commemorate the Swiss hero, who was a successful car dealer, too and probably one of the very first classic car traders in Switzerland.

A book published this month remembers one of the most important Swiss sportsmen of all time. Jean-Marie Wyder accompanies Siffert on his adventures in the 17 countries he has raced during his career including hundreds of so far unpublished pictures. A tribute to the 50th anniversary of his death - definetely not for die-hard motorsport fans only: www.lespilotessuissesdef1.ch
